January goals

I’ve never been a big goal-setter. For some reason, this year I feel more energized and excited to put some goals on paper. I’m not sure if it’s my age (I’m definitely not getting any younger!) or the fact that 2020 felt like we had to put our lives on hold, but I’m ready to start living (with social distancing and masks, of course). My friend Jesse posts her small goals each month and I find it a fun way to learn what’s going on in her life. I thought it could help keep me accountable!

Here’s my to-do list for January:

  1. Enroll Finch in kindergarten. Lots of paperwork to gather! We waited an extra year to send him to school, but it’s not making me any less emotional about it. My baby boy will be in kindergarten?! I can’t believe it.

  2. Make a plan for Rooney’s birthday. Rooney turns 9 at the beginning of March. Last year she had a great friend party right before COVID hit. This year is obviously different. I want to make her winter birthday still feel special! Gonna have to get creative …

  3. Take the kids snow tubing. One of my big goals for the year is more adventure. Snow tubing is something I’ve never done, and now is the perfect time to go!

  4. Book a place to stay in South Dakota this summer. We are hoping to take our first family road trip this summer to the Badlands/Mount Rushmore and need to start planning!

  5. Decide on a destination for our 15th anniversary trip this fall. Maine is at the top of the list, but I’d go anywhere with my babe.

  6. Book a style analysis. I’ve been considering this ever since I did my color analysis, and I finally decided I’m going to do it! I’m excited to have a “name” for my style other than snappy casual (haha). I will for sure post about it afterward!

  7. Schedule a color analysis for my kids. I have found so much value in having my colors done that I really want to know what my kids are, too. Of course I think my kids look good in anything they wear, but their season will never change and it’s half price for kids, so it makes sense to do it now. I truly think it’s a wonderful investment and one of my favorite things I did in 2020.

  8. Organize my laundry room. I bought bins in December but that’s as far as I got. At this moment we have zero clean rooms in our house and I wonder if I will ever feel like an adult who has her act together. Ugh.

OK — let’s go!!!
