my kids' color analyses
You might remember that last fall I had a color analysis with Ally from House of Colour Des Moines. A good way to describe it is an image consultant who helps you figure out what colors look best on you. It wasn’t long after my appointment before I wanted to know what seasons the rest of my family are, and last weekend we finally found out!
Finch was up first, and he’s a winter! I actually teared up when I saw how he shined in those colors and realized he was the same season as me. I was a little surprised, but excited I didn’t have to learn a new color palette. I can not believe his before-and-after photo. His face is so much brighter on the right. It was very clear what he season is, and thank goodness, because he is a 5-year-old boy who did not want to sit for too long. Knowing this info will make it so much easier for me to shop for him!
Rooney went second, and she is a winter, too! One of us is super excited — can you guess who? I’m hoping she will eventually warm up to the idea that this means we can share clothes, shoes and makeup forever. :) To be honest, she looked good in everything — it was very hard for me to tell which season she is. I love that we already know colors her prom and wedding dresses should be (should she choose to wear them).
So, both kids are winters like me! We look best in cool, clear, bright and icy colors. Eric is an autumn and totally rocks warm, muted, earthy colors. These are the colors that I am most drawn to in stores, so I’m excited to be able to buy them for someone :) Because we’re not all the same season, it will make family photos a little tricky, but Ally showed me some crossover colors and some coordinating colors that we can play around with.
Such a fun day with House of Colour!
