Rooney's 4th birthday party

When we asked Rooney what kind of birthday party she wanted, I was pretty sure she was immediately going to say Frozen. To my surprise, she said Rapunzel!

I knew I wanted to spend less time and money on her party than we have in the past, but still wanted to do some things with the "theme," like...

  • Braided yellow rope to look like hair - Rooney loved wearing it around her head (Eric's mom's genius idea)
  • The "cast iron" paper plates were probably my favorite touch...if you've seen the movie Tangled you know that is Rapunzel's weapon
  • Apple slices for Maximus (the horse)
  • Cupcake "tower"
  • Floating lanterns
  • Movie soundtrack playing in the background

We served crockpot macaroni and cheese, sloppy joes, carrots, apple slices, strawberry cupcakes, ice cream sundaes, and lemonade.

Roo wore her Rapunzel dress and asked that Eric dress up as Flynn Rider, me as Mother Gothel (the mean "mom") and Finch as Pascal (the chameleon), and that everyone in attendance wear party crowns or hats.

Everyone had a great time! My only regret is forgetting to take a picture of all the cousins on the couch like we have at all of her past parties!
