summer bucket list
I'm optimistic this is going to be our best summer yet! Now that Finch is 2, his needs are a little less demanding, which makes it easier to get out and explore. (Don't worry, he still makes things interesting by running away from us whenever possible.) This is also Rooney's last summer before kindergarten and I want to make it extra fun! So here's some activities I've been brainstorming:
SUMMER BUCKET LIST 2017
- Eat a crepe at the Des Moines Farmers' Market (at least once/month)
- Taste Van Dee's Ice Cream for the first time
- Revisit Waukee Ice Cream Shoppe
- Go strawberry picking at Berry Patch Farm
- Spend a week in Okoboji
- Get inspired at the Des Moines Arts Festival
- Go exploring and camping at Ledges State Park
- Bike ride to R Taco, a new restaurant coming to our neighborhood
- Explore and rent a cabin at Jester Park
- Water Wednesdays:
- Greenwood splash park
- Cowles Commons
- Western Gateway Park water runnels
- Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center
- Cousin swimming day
- Taste "the best ice cream on Earth" at Black Cat Ice Cream
- See 100 hot air balloons at the National Balloon Classic (this has been on my list for years...)
- Eat a corn dog and cheese curds at the Iowa State Fair
- Cheer on the Iowa Cubs
- Check out the Rocket Fizz soda pop & candy shop
- Eat breakfast as the Original Pancake House – you had me at crepe!
