taking a toddler to lunch
Eating out is one of our favorite things to do, and eating out with kids is always an adventure. We actually don't eat out much right now because Finchy goes to bed so early, but we usually try to get out for lunch at least once on the weekend. And even then, it's best to choose somewhere quick and/or low-key (although our kids did survive a two-hour meal at The Cheesecake Factory on Easter weekend!). With Finch, you just have to keep the finger foods coming, and Rooney does well with coloring or games on the children's menu.
One of the most stressful parts of eating out with kids is when the table gets full of breakable plates and full drinks. I can't tell you how many times we've spilled a glass of water while eating out as a family. One particular outing to Buffalo Wild Wings, I ended up with a lap full of huckleberry lemonade, making the rest of the meal very uncomfortable. So when Boon reached out to see if we wanted to try their new silicone cup lids, I was thrilled to say yes.
That little Finchy is such a little flirt! We caught him making eyes at our waitress.
The whole concept of the lids is that they fit snugly over any regular cup to turn it into a sippy or straw cup. And I have to say, they work! Cheers to upright cups and dry laps! Boon SNUG lids are available in-store and online at Babies"R"Us, if you'd like to give them a try!
P.S. If you have a Bar Louie near you, try the California Chicken Club Sandwich!
