iPhoneography

Lately I've been having so much fun with the VSCOcam app (free) on my iPhone. I personally think it's the best photo-editing app out there. Lots of families hire professional photographers to take family photos, but what about the daily things? Kids brushing their teeth in their pajamas, rocking their babies to sleep, taking baths, waking up slowly in the morning, watching in awe as dad shaves his beard, helping mom apply her daily makeup, sitting on the floor making a mess of a spoon and sunflower butter? I want to have photos of that stuff, too.

Sidenote: For our family photos, I love to step away from posed shots and ask a photographer to come along with our family on an adventure. Like, going to the pumpkin patch (see last year's photos here), state fair or farmer's market. The point is to have fun and enjoy the experience, and hopefully a few (natural-looking) photos will result. Our photos this fall with feature a family bike ride, since that's what we're really into right now.

Anyway, here are some of my favorite iPhone photos lately. I'm so glad I have a good camera in my pocket that's with me all the time and super easy to pull out when I want to capture the moment.
